The Story of Blueness

under construction

Many Older Cats Society members contributed to this suspense-filled story which was written during April/May 2000. Unfortunately, except for the introduction and the conclusion, the entries were lost. Although it is impossible to reconstruct the story in its entirety, these entries are recorded for your purrusal:

In April 2000, Blackie Jamison wrote the following introduction for a new chain story:

The new story is now about a cat named Blueness in search of his best friend, a dog named Pete.

As the story continued, the plot took many surprising twists and turns before it ended.

Written by Myste:

Blueness began to run toward the barn, a horse...whinnied. It sounded like the horse was scared or upset. It didn't sound happy! So, Blueness dashed across the barn lot. It was foggy that early in the morning, and Blueness could barely see the barn, but it also worked to his advantage. As he ran, Blueness blended in with the fog, and no one could see him. Just as he got to the barn door, a cloaked figure came slipping stealthily through a small crack in the big double doors!

Conclusion written by Blackie Jamison:

Blueness looked closely, and saw it was his meowmie! She came out through the door, carrying Pete on a leash. She dropped the leash in surprise when she saw Blueness, and Pete ran to him and they licked each other and Pete promised not to run away again. Their meowmie had gotten a call from a friend saying her dog was in the barn, and had gone to get him. What a surprise to find her missing cat as well! They all returned home, and Blueness sat down for his daily brushing, grateful for his friend's return and happy he was fortunate enough to have Pete.
